Brian Fitpatrick, pianist, composer, arranger

Brian Fitzpatrick has been working as a professional musician since 1982. His musical pursuits have focused on solo piano performance, improvisation, and music composition. He has performed solo and worked with his own trio. Fitzpatrick has focused upon improvisation in various styles, jazz, avant-garde jazz, and contemporary classical. As a jazz pianist, he is influenced by Keith Jarrett, Oscar Peterson, and Bill Evans.

Fitzpatrick's compositions typically stray from mainstream styles. He has written for combos, large ensembles. He has made arrangements, notably for saxophone quartet, Thelonius Monk's, "Ask Me Now."

Fitzpatrick is the recipient of the Bayles Award in Music Composition. He has been awarded the Siena Music Scholarship on two seperate occasions in performance and composition. Additionally, he has written music for film, collaborated with dance and theater troupes and visual artists. Brian Fitzpatrick is currently Associate Professor of Music at Endicott College, Beverly, MA.
